Iveco Group partnered with beSirius - a startup developing a sustainability intelligence platform that helps companies transform complex sustainability data into actionable insights - to create a Sustainability Twin™ for their operations, turning scattered sustainability data into a strategic tool for decision-making.
The collaboration between Iveco Group and beSirius focused on building a unified system for collecting and managing sustainability data across multiple assessments, including EcoVadis, CDP, and local Italian ratings. At the centre of the project was the creation of a Sustainability Twin™ - a digital replica of Iveco Group's sustainability data, designed to ensure consistency and accelerate responses to recurring rating and disclosure requests.
The system introduced analytics dashboards that provided Iveco Group's sustainability team with visibility into the frequency and patterns of sustainability-related inquiries. These dashboards revealed recurring themes across climate, governance, supply chain, and human rights topics, helping the team better understand stakeholder priorities and identify where sustainability initiatives could deliver the greatest business impact.
Founded in Amsterdam in 2022 and accelerated by Techstars through its programme in Turin, beSirius is working to change how sustainability operates in the metals, mining, and industrials sectors. The company developed the Sustainability Twin™ - an intelligence system that transforms fragmented ESG data into actionable insights. Purpose-built for industrials, beSirius enables sustainability teams to automatically complete questionnaires, assess supplier risks, and generate audit-ready reports across over 25 frameworks, all from existing company data. Trusted by global leaders in supply chain and energy transition, the platform helps clients reclaim time, align with stakeholders, and turn compliance obligations into strategic advantages.
“This collaboration gave us valuable insight into how AI can support sustainability work, by connecting and simplifying what’s already there in support of our effective data-driven reporting and disclosure work,” stated Mattia Pagliaro, Sustainability Planning and Reporting of Iveco Group.
“Working with Iveco Group helped us refine how AI fits within large industrial structures as part of the large system. Every collaboration like this makes the technology more tailored to the needs of sustainability functions and more relevant to real corporate work and efficiency,” said Anastasia Kuskova, Co-Founder & CEO of beSirius.
Following the initial collaboration, Iveco Group is evaluating further opportunities to extend the use of AI in sustainability workflows, to improve data integration, enhance reporting efficiency, and support realisation of ESG initiatives across the organisation.
